Conduct fire suppression and rescue operations, including but not limited to interior fire suppression, exterior fire suppression, vehicle rescue, fire apparatus operations. Assist in maintenance, and work around the station. Must be able to endure extended, physically taxing operations while wearing 60-80 pounds of gear. Must be able to operate power tools.
For ages 16-18. Operate as fire support personnel for exterior fire operations, including but not limited to running gear and equipment to other firefighters, throwing ladders to the exterior of a building, assisting in stretching hose lines, cleaning up equipment, gear, and hoses after calls. Assist in maintenance and work around the station. Must be able to lift heavy objects and endure extended operations while wearing 30 pounds of gear.
Yes. EHFC will train applicants with no experience.

There is no schedule to being a volunteer firefighter. Members are expected to make themselves available to respond to calls, trainings, and meetings when they are available. There is a requirement to make a certain number of hours of training and fire calls to be considered an active member.
The overall program is 188 training hours. The classes are broken up into phases and normally conducted on two weeknights and one or two weekend days per week.
